No, we aren't having a boy... that we know of yet :) Tonight while I was singing to McKenna she seemed very sad and so I asked her if she needed to talk to me about it. She told me that when Daddy was at work that she could. I tried to hide a smile from my face and told her that we could go in on my bed and shut the door so that it would be just the two of us. We got in there and I asked her what was the matter. She started getting a little weepy and said that "Boy talk" was making her feel sad. Apparently earlier in the evening she kissed one of the neighbor boys and Mike talked to her about the importance saving your kisses. I wasn't quite prepared for the conversation that followed!
Me: "Why do you want to kiss the boys?"
McKenna: "So that they know I love them."
Me: "Um... okay...... Lets think of some other ways that we can show them we love them"
McKenna: "We can hug them"
Me: "We can draw them pictures or write them notes"
McKenna: "Oh yeah! and on the notes I can put your makeup on and kiss the paper where the dot is supposed to be"
Me: "Ummmmmm... okay... sure you can do that"
Mckenna: starting to cry HARD
Me: "Kenna, whats the matter?"
McKenna: "you know Bryce" (6yr old little boy on the street)
Me: yeah, "what about him"
McKenna: "I love his brother"
Me:" "his BROTHER??"
McKenna:"Yeah, you know Robert (14 yr old, yep! going for the older boys I guess) Today I looked at him and I said, "Hi, Robert" and he just looked at me."
Me: Biting my lip to stop the laughter from coming and wondering how in the world I am supposed to respond!
McKenna is 7 years old....... 7 years old!!!!!
I thought I had a few years to prepare for these "Boy Talks!"
