The Great Depression

Just going to start out with how much I love to home school! I know its not for everyone and no, I'm not trying to convince you that it is! Not only do the girls have the opportunity to learn in our home but my desires and interests to increase my own education have blossomed.

McKenna is reading a book out loud to me about a young girl living during the time of The Great Depression. I have always loved history but honestly do not remember a whole lot about that time period. So in the true form of practicing what I preach I headed to the Library. As if I need to remind any of you.... I live in Eagle Mountain and our library is on the small side. Nevertheless I came home with a few different books and a great appreciation for the chance I have to continue and build my own education. I hope to get into it this up coming week and share with you some of the new things that I've learned!

I find the great depression super fascinating! There's also a lot of great fiction books written by authors at that time that give great insight on life then! Enjoy the adventure!

I love that home schooling helps you increase your education, too. I haven't thought of it that way. Good for you for practicing what you preach. Are you reading, Counting on Grace? That's a great young adult book on the depression. It talks about the disaster at the Triangle Shirt Factory, as well, which always makes me feel so sad. YOu must keep sharing your cool discoveries!
