New York....Day 1

WOW. New york is just like the movies! Busy, loud, fast, dirty. You name it Manhattan has got it! Today we began our morning with a conversation with 2 great women. Both Jewish one of them was familiar with the "Mormons" and the other knew nothing. We talked about temples, missionaries, marriage (they were SHOCKED when they found out that we were so young and already had 3 kids), gays (my heart really started to pound at this point of the conversation. thankfully Mike handled this beautifully). It was a good conversation and opened my eyes to what missionaries encounter daily. It also made me realize that I need to have a better way to articulate what I believe so that I can share it with others without looking like a fool :) For lunch we somehow appeared so dumb that they let us into a"buyers" only reception and got a yummy FREE lunch. We also experienced our first "whined and dined" treatment. I think I could get used to these "business" trips. They offered us whine and we declined of course and ordered a Sprite and Diet Coke instead. I almost asked if I could still drink it out of the wine glass. Seriously, some of the fun in drinking has got to be those huge glasses! We hit Time Square and rounded out the evening flying down a one-way street with a CRAZY cab driver.

Last but not least while I was talking to Brynlee on the phone she asked, "Mommy, are you still on the plane?" Oh, I love my girls!

Wow, that would be an eye opening expierence for me too. I don't know if I could handle that. Guess I have something else I should work on. Hope you have a good time!

I learned while dining there that if you turned your wine glass upside down it meant that you did not want wine. Anyways I am still jealous that you are there and I am here. Good luck with the cab thing. Never rode in one we just took the metro

Tiff, I've missed your blog. I thought that I signed up to be a follower to your blog sometime before Christmas. Well, time goes by and now I'm thinking "why the heck has Tiff stopped updating her blog?" Decided to check tonight and sure enough...I'm a fool to think you've left the blogging world. Hope your having fun in New York. - Autum

Glad you had a good time. I wish you could have seen Brynlee on her end of the phone when she scruched up her shoulders and said "Mommy, I can feel your hug." Precious and darling!!!

I'm so glad you had a great time. Having frequent conversations about the church with strangers/coworkers/friends is one of things I miss most about living in the East. I'm anxious to hear about the rest of your trip
