The Lord works in mysterious ways.....Right?

This post is definitely a long one! As many of you know last year around this time Mike was still student teaching seminary and loving it but still awaiting the word if he would be hired or not. The principle he was teaching under thought he was great and the kids always gave him excellent reviews so Mike and I were very hopeful. He was more of the "it'll happen if it supposed to happen" and I was more like"of course it will happen, how could it not?" Fast forward a little. Turns out he didn't get hired but they did offer for him to teach for another semester. Mike really loved teaching and considered taking the position but never felt right about it. I was frustrated because I wanted it to feel right but knew that it didn't. Since he was almost done with his Masters we figured that we would just go that route and pursue a job in Natural Resources. Fast forward another couple of months. After moving in with my parents, applying, and interviewing for N.R. jobs nothing seemed to be working out. We prayed that a job would become available and we would know what direction to take our family. In the meantime Mike got a job from a guy in the ward in the production side of his company. Mike liked the company but not the work until one day one of their sales rep didn't show up. They asked Mike to come and fill in. Gladly taking a change from production he went. Somehow the Pres. of the company overheard him and thought he sounded good (for those of you who know Mike this is no shocker for those of you who don't I'll just say he loves to talk ) Fast forward a little more. The Sales Manager gets hurt while playing basketball and while he is gone from work Mike takes over his responsibilities. By the end of his 2 months working there they offer him a job as the sales manager. Mike liked the work and we were anxious to get out on our own. My parents were great to us and we greatly appreciated their help but it was time :) So after a lot of prayer we decided that we would commit to this new job and put the Natural Resources jobs on the back burner. We prayed about where to live and if we should buy or rent. We felt good about buying our first house and were so excited to finally be settled in. Okay fast forward again, we are happy in our house and life is going good. Mike is enjoying his job, I am loving my new house, McKenna and Brynlee love our neighborhood, Raigynn is.... well I'll just say she has been cutting teeth :) Then a couple of nights ago I get home and there is a message on our machine. It is a guy from the Division of Wildlife Resources. Yes my heart dropped when I heard the next few lines of his message. It turns out that a job that Mike had interviewed for about 6 months ago was open again and they wanted to know if Mike was still interested in the position. I was floored to say the least. Of course Mike wasn't home yet and I was going crazy. I called my Mom because I just couldn't handle it. She calmed me down (at least long enough for Mike to get home) Once Mike got home I had him listen to the message and all he did was laugh and say "The Lord works in mysterious ways". I was so mad! How could he just blow it off like that, I mean seriously he went and got his Masters in N.R. so he could work in the field. Oh my wordy I am getting all up tight just thinking about it again :) Well after cooling off from his reaction and thinking of his remark I realized that yes, our prayers have been answered and we feel like we are doing what the Lord wants us to do. We are exactly where we are supposed to be, and he has the job that he is supposed to ( which by the way he needed his MS in a totally unrealted field for ;) All I can say is I am grateful for my faithful husband and that life never gets boring.

Ha Ha! I know exactly what job it is. Just think if the DWR had been smart they would have hired Mike in the first place and you guys would have been hooked for life. Instead he got a great job and bought a new house while the guy that took one of those jobs lives in an 800 squre foot apartment with his wife and 3 kids... Who's living the dream here anyway?

It's been quite a ride getting to where you guys are now! It is a great thing the Lord is in charge because if it had been up to you, you'd have taken a completely different route and would not be where you are now. It is very interesting how the Lord led you guys around until your current situation could unfold perfectly. A happy ending/beginning to a wonderful, deserving family!
