Enough IS Enough?

Women are never happy.

Yep. I will go ahead and qualify that statement. I could probably put one million examples up here of how we women judge ourselves. Often throughout our lives we fall into a category- Too much, not enough, and why me? You'd be lying if you said otherwise:) Looking back on my life I can pinpoint certain times in life where I was stuck in each one of these categories. Then finally able to climb out of one only to find myself in another.

If I were a betting woman...... I bet you find any woman~whether she was overweight or in great physical shape, ask her how she felt about her body and she would come up with line upon line of her dis-satisfactions. Too fat, too thin, too slow, too tired, too much, not enough, I just can't....... blah blah blah.

Why do we fall into the trap making our bodies the enemy? How often during the day are we praising them for what they give us compared to scolding them for what they don't?

I am more and more convinced that the number on the scale, the number on the inside label, or the number of miles run will/can never make us satisfied. There will always be 5 more lbs, one size smaller, and one mile further. ALWAYS.

When will enough be enough?

For me that journey starts with taking a step back and looking at everything my body has experienced. The Good. The Bad. The Ugly. And dare I say The Beautiful and The Amazing?

Love your post! And I agree with Ruth...I love cookies too much :o) I think we don't give ourselves enough credit as women for all the things our bodies go through. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
