Mike has put in for the St. George Marathon lottery for the last 2 yrs with no luck. This year was his "third times a charm" guarantee if he decided to try again. I all but swore off running during my last half marathon in St. George so when I mentioned to Mike the idea of maybe putting my name in the lottery he about fell over! He looked at me like I shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't ever run a full 26.2 miles. BRING IT ON. Little did he know that his response has fueled me to not only want to finish a full marathon but to live through one with a smile. (Crossing my fingers on this one)
After talking to my partner in crime/craziness we decided what the heck we have 5 bucks to lose if they don't draw our names out and at least we'll know we tried. Fast forward a bit. This morning I anxiously looked up our names. After and hour and a half I had nothing. I went downstairs to feed my poor starving babies and got a phone call from Jami. She hadn't seen her name either and asked what it looked like. I explained to her how I had found Mike and then she tried again. Because we put in together if she was in I was in. While on the phone she found her name. We were on the phone screaming at/to each other and then I ran upstairs to try again. I FINALLY saw my name.... My heart started pumping super fast, I started shaking, and the desire to throw-up was a little too real.
So as luck would have it with over 10,000 runners putting in I drew out of this "lottery". Hopefully in the future I wont be wishing I would have taken this piece of luck to Vegas instead......

Yeah! I had no idea you put in for it. Good luck!
Holy smokes girl! Good for you. I've never even considered running it, but I do wear Dave's St. George 2005 Marathon shirt around with PRIDE! Haha. Can't wait to see you sporting that shirt.
After that half in St.George, I'm not sure I WANT to be there to see you come in, but finish I'm sure you will AND I'll be there cheering/crying you in!!
That's so exciting! You'll do fantastic I'm sure! Sometimes it just takes someone thinking something you want to do isn't the greatest idea to fuel your desire to succeed :o) Good Luck!
