YELLOW!

When Mike went out of town for practically the ENTIRE month of January I thought, "hmmmmm what to do with myself?" My orange wall in the kitchen was looking a bit dated so I thought perfect. I'll go to Lowe's pick up some paint swatches, take 'em home, hang them up, and choose the color. The next day I can rent a movie after purchasing chosen paint, start/finish paint job after the kiddos go to bed, and treat myself to some ice-cream. Viola. My house would be just as I pictured it. You know everything in place, the right colors on the wall, enough but not too many decorations, gorgeous furniture etc. So much for plans.After 2 coats of paint I realized that maybe I am not a yellow kitchen kinda gal after all. After returning to Lowes after about a billion trips I came home armed with glaze and a mission to make this work. Mind you this is on day 4 of this planned 2 day process. I get the glaze up on the wall in a fairly big section and HATE it. So I wipe it all off which takes some paint and leaves my arm feeling like a noodle, re paint and promise myself to never start a project when Mike is outta town AGAIN. Turns out after I got some black up on the wall and some boxes to use for home school the color grew on me.Still not sure I am a yellow kitchen kinda gal? But whatever it staying.

Now ready for the curtain story?? I'm not. I will just say after buying 3 different kinds of material, making 2 different sets of curtains. I finally hung up the finished product the night before Mike got home. SERIOUSLY my 2 day simple makeover took 3 weeks!
