My cousin posed these questions on his blog and it made me think.......
Question #1. What are some of the traits that you are the most happy to see in your children?
McKenna - Thoughtful, clever, creative, snuggly, sensitive, smart, musical, honest
Brynlee- Spunky, spontaneous, emotional, snuggly, shy, playful, energetic, loving
Raigynn- determined, trusting, snuggly, independent, curious, happy, friendly,easy-going
Question #2. What did you do to encourage, instill, teach, demonstrate, or grow that trait?
I hope that I have encouraged them to become who they are naturally. Just one example, I have tried to demonstrate how to have fun and laugh. My girls have taken that example and tweaked it to their own personalities. McKenna loves to be silly and make up songs and dance. Brynlee on the other hand likes to make crazy voices and make herself do tricks and fall down. I am anxious to see Raigynns spin on it. One of the biggest challenges in parenting is knowing the line between encouragement and force. (You will notice that all my girls love to snuggle. That is certainly one I have come close to forcing :) Bottomline, the best thing that I can do as a mom is to be supportive, give them opportunities to grow, and then sit back and enjoy.

Cute pictures. That first one looks like an adorable little girl version of Mike. Oh wait, that's exactly what she is!
I like your take on encouraging their own spin on things, I think some parenting styles seem to say "that's just who they are" a little too quickly...
I don't care what your kid was born like, can you remove his teeth from my shin?
What? I have no idea what you are talking about w/ the shin and teeth!
It just seems like some parents blame annoying crap head behavior on "who the kid is" instead of beating the child like it deserves for doing stupid things... like biting, kicking, yelling, whatever....
I COMPLETLY agree! Just wait until some little kid comes and bites your little one and the parent just laughs it off like its not that big of a deal and tells you its just a phase....ARE YOU KIDDING ME phase or not that little kid needs some kind of punishment!
